And the Winner is....Notre Dame!

Well, it's official! Jeff and I will be heading down to South Bend, Indiana where Jeff will be getting his PH.D in Chemical Engineering at Notre Dame. We are both excited about living in a new city--and the fact that it is not too far from home (and I'm sure our Moms are excited about that as well!).
Keep praying for us as we start to plan what life will be like in a new community, finding a teaching job for me, and adjusting to many changes! :)

Hands are Open

As many of you know Jeff has applied to many different graduate schools around the United States and we have played the waiting game for the past 3 months, wondering where we will end up for the next 5 years. Me--being the "Nervous Nelly" and always needing a "plan"--I've struggled with this waiting game and just want to know what's next! Well I came to a new understanding of this situation that has calmed my heart and prepared me for whatever is in store of the both of us. As the nerves were getting the best of me I was reminded that I could not accept anything good in store for me with clenched fists and unopened hands. So rather, this week I will work to keep my hands open to receive the gifts and plans God has in store for me and Jeff in the future.

Romans 8:28
"Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."

In Christ,
Allie

Bloggers?

Well with family all over the United States and Canada--and the possibility of living in a new city next year--we thought it might be fun to start a blog to stay in touch! Not sure if we have anything very interesting to say, but nevertheless here we go!
