Spring Happenings

Thought I would share this photo of me teaching! We were learning about farms and playing farm animal bingo. I have been student teaching for 9 weeks now and am finished in a few days! Can't believe it is almost over and that I am finally graduating from college!

I also wanted to share some Notre Dame pictures from our day trip a few weeks ago. It was fun to visit Jeff's new school. :)

The Song on My Heart

Speak, O Lord, as we come to You,
To receive the food of Your holy word.
Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;
Shape and fashion us in Your likeness,
That the light of Christ might be seen today,
In our acts of love and our deeds of faith.
Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us all your purposes,
For Your glory.

Teach us Lord full obedience,
Holy reverence, true humility.
Test our thoughts and our attitudes,
In the radiance of Your purity.
Cause our faith to rise,
Cause our eyes to see,
Your majestic love and authority.
Words of power that can never fail;
Let their truth prevail over unbelief.

Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;
Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us.
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time,
That will echo down through eternity.
And by grace we’ll stand on Your promises;
And by faith we’ll walk as You walk with us.
Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built,
And the earth is filled with Your glory.

Kiawah Island

Last Friday my sister, Becky, my Mom, and I loaded up the car and headed for a relaxing week at Kiawah Island, South Carolina. After a night and a morning driving in the car we made it to Charleston to stock up on groceries--at Costco of course--and pick up Grandma Zwier at the airport.
Finally we arrived at Kiawah Island where we enjoyed biking on the beach, laying in the sun, going out for ice cream, reading books, playing Bananagrams, and having fun with the ladies.
On Monday night we picked up Sam from the train station in Charleston after his 7 hour trip from Orlando (he was quite bored...). We had fun teasing the only guy on the trip, but were glad to have our little brother along. :)
The trip held many adventures--Grandma falling off her bike, "girl talks" to remember, run-ins with jelly fish, a false alarm break in, an intense basketball tournament (I got a bit carried away...), a grouchy ticket-taker, a broken sandal in Charleston (and an upset sister), a leaky radiator, a 2 hour detour through The Great Smoky National Park, a confused GPS, and Wendy's BBQ "chicken wings".
Overall, it was an awesome trip which we were blessed with beautiful weather, a gorgeous view of the ocean, great food, safe travels, and best of all--wonderful company!
