Overwhelmingly Blessed!

I got a job!
I still can't believe it--I feel so fortunate and relieved that I will be teaching next fall! I will be teaching a Kindergarten/First grade special education classroom in Niles, Michigan (about 20 minutes from where we will be living in South Bend). The most amazing part of this all is looking back at how God was orchestrating this whole thing.
This winter I student taught in a Kindergarten/First grade special education classroom and had some doubts about whether or not I would really enjoy this young of students. Turns out, I LOVE this age group AND my experience there would be exactly what I needed to get me a job this fall.
When I started looking for jobs this spring I kind of "wrote off" teaching in a special ed. placement--thinking it just "wasn't for me" and that I enjoy general education better. So when the job hunt began, I started searching for everything BUT special education positions.
After two job interviews--followed by two "no's"--I felt a bit crushed and didn't know where to look next. Well, God had bigger plans in mind and when I got home the same afternoon after hearing from the other interviews, I had an e-mail from Niles Community Schools about a middle school position, asking me to come in for an interview.
Off I went--not too excited about middle school, but willing to do anything. The interview went great and after I was asked if I had any interest in a K/1 classroom where a position was open, but that they were going to hire internally. After hearing about my experience with this age group, they thought maybe I'd be a good fit for this classroom. My eyes lit up at the sound of that idea and after another interview (and lots of prayer from friends and family) I landed the job!
Isn't it cool how God works in ways which we can't even comprehend (or see coming!).
God is good.
